Have you ever driven past a construction site and
seen massive cranes lifting huge panels of concrete in the air? Have you watched
with amazement as a new commercial building seems to spring into place, almost
overnight? What you have witnessed is tiltwall construction
(also called tilt-up construction), an innovative method for building office
buildings, retail centers, warehouses, distribution centers, call centers, manufacturing
facilities and other commercial / industrial structures with amazing speed,
safety, and construction cost benefits. Meet
the Tilt-up Concrete Association
| The
leading trade organization in the industry for tiltwall construction is the Tilt-up
Concrete Association. Founded in 1986 by a group of contractors,
professionals and manufacturers, the Tilt-Up Concrete Association works to expand
and improve the use of Tilt-Up as the preferred construction method by providing
education and resources that enhance quality and performance.
"The
TCA is to tiltwall construction what the AGC is to the commercial construction
industry," said Ed McGuire, Vice President of Construction for Arlington,
Texas-based Bob Moore Construction and TCA boardmember. "The organization
works to educate industry members and create standards to make tiltwall even more
safe and successful than it is now." For more information about this organization,
please visit the Tilt-up
Concrete Association website at tilt-up.org. |
